Early Tang unglazed pottery is characterized by its realism and elegant shape of the horse. This equestrian has a detachable female rider. The rider depicted is a noble lady in outing clothing. The pottery used is grey. The horse mane is finely carved flowing on the neck. The method of making includes molding, hand engraving and application of color pigment after firing.
