This equestrian represents a soldier from the Northern Qi period. The main characteristics of Northern Qi sculpture include the strong curve on the neck of the horse, and the straight legs of the horses. All Northern Qi horses are depicted as standing on 4 legs on a base without much movement. In addition, the depiction of the saddle is also very prominent compared to previous dynasties. The depiction of the expression of the rider is mild and tranquil.
