This equestrian represents the standard of Western Han equestrian found in Yang Jiawan of Xian. The technique of making includes molding, engraving and cold painting. The terracotta piece was first molded and the details were engraved at the second stage. The pigments are added using water and powder minerals after firing. This equestrian depicts a soldier on a horse before the invention of stirrups.
