This painting table has its original black lacquer finish. The construction is of standard mitered frame members with a tongue and grooved floating panel. There is a
waist and the legs are tennoned to the top frame members. The legs are straight and end in horse-hoof feet. Since painting table is considered furniture of the elite class, the style
of painting table usually conveys restraint of being too decorative. This particular one is a good example of simplicity of form we find on most of the Ming Furniture.
