One of the outstanding features of this twin sideboard is the carved apron. The central theme of the carvings is longevity. The longevity symbol is carved in the center, and decorated with scrolls all done in relief style. The overhanging top frame gives the cabinet an overall lighter form. The paintings on the front though have been worn off, the cabinet conveys a much more simple and subtle beauty. The contrast of the red and black lacquer finishes adds charm to the piece.
